Spooky Fall Nuptials

Nestled in the North Valley, you'll find Los Poblanos Farm. Truly a hidden gem in New Mexico and the perfect venue for a Halloween wedding.

Halloween weddings often get a reputation for being overly themed, but Billy and Sivan's wedding proved that you don't need fake cobwebs or carved pumpkins to embrace the season. Instead, they leaned into everything that makes autumn in New Mexico feel magical, starting with their choice of venue.

Los Poblanos Lavender Farm.

Los Poblanos naturally creates the atmosphere. Towering cottonwood trees begin turning gold, the adobe architecture glows in the afternoon light, and crisp October evenings invite guests to gather around candlelit tables beneath the stars. The venue already feels warm, romantic, and timeless, making it an incredible backdrop for couples who want to celebrate Halloween in a sophisticated way.


One of our favorite things about their wedding was how intentionally they celebrated Halloween without letting it become a costume party. Black accents, rich autumn florals (something New Mexico is amazing for), deep fall color palettes and candlelight (see further in the evening for the epic long table dinner by candlelight they had, iconic) created an atmosphere that felt both seasonal and luxurious.

Rather than decorating for Halloween, they embraced everything people already love about late October in New Mexico.

October is one of our favorite months to photograph weddings in New Mexico.

The summer heat has finally settled, the cottonwoods begin changing colors, and the softer afternoon light makes every portrait feel cinematic. 

At Los Poblanos, every part of the property seems to come alive during the fall season. It's difficult to imagine a more beautiful place for an October wedding.

A beautiful quality to Los Poblanos as a wedding venue

how effortlessly the property transforms with each season. No matter when you visit, it offers a completely different experience while somehow remaining unmistakably Los Poblanos.

This is also a great location for if you and your guests are from out of town and looking for itinerary ideas for wedding weekends.

During the summer, the lavender fields burst into bloom, the gardens are lush with vibrant greenery, and every corner of the property feels alive. It's bright, fragrant, and full of color. A dream setting for couples wanting a garden wedding in the heart of New Mexicos North Valley.

By autumn, the venue takes on an entirely different personality. The lavender fields fade into soft silvery tones, towering cottonwoods turn brilliant shades of gold, deep red ristras begin hanging throughout the property, and the crisp October air creates an atmosphere that feels warm, romantic, and unmistakably Southwestern. It's no wonder fall in New Mexico is primo wedding season here.

Its also peak travel season so keep that in mind, I will say theres a reason why though and its because its dope lol.

What makes Los Poblanos truly special, though, is that it never relies on extravagant decorations to make an impression. The historic adobe architecture, thoughtfully designed gardens, and timeless character of the estate already create an unforgettable backdrop. Every walkway, courtyard, and building feels intentional, making it easy for couples to let the venue speak for itself rather than covering it up with elaborate décor.

And then there are the peacocks.

Yes, actual peacocks roam the grounds. It's one of those unexpected details that makes Los Poblanos feel almost magical. You'll hear their distinctive calls throughout the day and occasionally catch one wandering through the gardens or perched near the historic buildings, adding another layer of charm to a venue that's already overflowing with character.

If you've spent much time in New Mexico, you know our seasons have personalities of their own. While our summer evenings seem to stretch on forever. Fall tells a different story.

The temperatures begin to drop as the sun slips behind the Sandias much earlier in the evening, bringing with it that unmistakable crisp autumn air.

Billy and Sivan embraced that seasonal shift perfectly by hosting their cocktail hour inside Los Poblanos' library. Walking into the space feels like stepping into another era. Dark wood bookshelves, warm lighting, antique details, and an old-world elegance gave the room an almost gothic atmosphere, an unexpectedly perfect setting for a Halloween wedding.

It didn't feel spooky or theatrical. Instead, it felt rich, timeless, and wonderfully fitting for late October.

I'll be the first to admit it, I'm completely obsessed with long table receptions. Maybe it's because they remind me of gathering around my nanny's table, where family dinners seemed to last for hours and conversation never really ended.

There's something so special about bringing everyone together at one table instead of scattering guests throughout the room. Add the glow of candlelight, and it's absolute chef's kiss.

I will never not love any incorporation of marigolds and their cake was beautiful.

A mosh pit at a wedding? Honestly, that's the millennial dream. There were more than a few moments where we caught ourselves quietly screaming along to the songs from behind our cameras. We can't help it, we love a packed dance floor. The energy is contagious, the kind that pulls everyone in and reminds you that the best wedding photos usually happen when people stop worrying about how they look and just have the time of their lives.

late night pool jump in the middle of the crisp fall night, fuck it why not lol. I will also note this is where Los Poblanos are a bit sticklers on (and I'm sure for good reason) but I also think if people wanna jump in the pool in the middle of the night let em you know. No harm no foul.

My hope with this feature was to celebrate everything we love about fall in New Mexico while showcasing the natural beauty and timeless charm of Los Poblanos. Every season brings out a different side of this incredible venue, and autumn just might be our favorite.
